For our annual Handmade Secret Santa/Galentine’s Day gift, I painted a candle that read 知足常樂, meaning “knowing contentment brings constant joy”. It is a Buddhist phrase about recognizing when you have enough, and finding joy in that recognition.
The calligraphy reads right to left:
知 – to know
足 – enough/content
常 – always
樂 – joy
The candle itself is from a DIY candle-making kit by KSM Candle Co.
