my teacher gave me fancy paper to try out and i was so nervous that my words were more crooked than normal 😅 not my best work but there are some gems 💎
now i get what they mean by the “energy” in the brushstroke — there really is nothing more telling than a calligraphy brush. even the slightest bit of anxiety or unease will show up in my practice as a shakey hand or a crooked character. the teeny difference in my relative patience in the morning vs restlessness in the afternoon is magnified 50x when i write during either time.
