Frequently Asked Questions
What is an original artwork?
An original artwork is a hand-drawn or hand-painted piece by me, Bonnie Zhou. It will always be created using high-quality archival materials, varnished, and hand-signed. As owner of the copyright, I reserve the right to sell printed reproductions of these original works.
What is a giclée art print?
A giclée art print is made through a modern printmaking process in which prints are produced on a special large-format printer in extremely high resolution to give as close as possible a reproduction of the precise colours and strokes of the original work. The giclée process offers the highest-quality reproduction available.
All of my giclée prints are archival and museum quality, printed on 250gsm Awagami Bamboo fine art paper, made from renewable PH neutral materials including Kozo (mulberry), Mitsumata, bamboo, and hemp.
Do you offer custom size prints?
Can I commission a special piece of artwork?
I'm not taking any commissions at this time. Sign up for my email list to be the first to be notified if I offer them in the future.
Who owns the rights to the artwork?
I, Bonnie Zhou, retain all copyrights to all artwork I create, including the rights to the image of sold & commissioned original artwork. This means that I retain the right to make reproductions of any and all artwork I create, including artwork that has been sold to a collector or buyer.
The artwork collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission. If the artwork ends up being reproduced in a magazine or other media, I only ask for credit.
When you purchase an original painting you, the collector, have the right to display the artwork in your home or business, but the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written permission.
