“Iridescent” Oil Painting

"Iridescent" is an original oil painting by Bonnie Zhou, 2022. Oil painting on stretched canvas, 16 x 20 inches.

This painting was conceived when I came across a beautiful editorial photo of a woman whose makeup was impeccably done. I interpreted her bright eye and lip colour as if it was glimmering in moonlight.

The colours in this painting are really hard to capture on camera because they look different at every angle, as if they were iridescent! The first image is the most accurate to what it looks like in person.
